I attended a Vet Day assembly at the school, to cover for the paper.
A North Hampton dad whose son was killed by a sniper in Iraq last June spoke to the kids, thanking last year's kindergartners who had written to Matthew.
He said when Matthew's personal effects came home, "each and every letter" had been in his locker.
He challenged other kids to write now to men and women in the service because it would mean a lot to them just like it did to his son.
